Me Tarzan...

We found a beautiful little hike the other weekend. We were enjoying our walk along the path next the river when low and behold we found a rope attached to a tree. Obviously a rope swing used to jump into the river. My brain was flooded with childhood memories that I wanted to fulfill again right then and there. However, I was carrying an 8 week old baby. Someone had to fulfill my urge to be 13 again. Luckily, Erin was feeling younger than his age as well. AND he was empty handed. Why does he get all the fun? Well, he grabbed the rope, and while Landon was making the Tarzan call, swung gracefully out and over the river. . .

Quickly, Tarzan vanished and in his stead was a
35 year old man holding onto the
rope with all the strength an out of shape 35 year old man can muster. . .



Foiled by a high branch, his graceful swing quickly turned into
frantic, wild, odd and uneven swinging motions,
spoiling all hope of returning to dry ground unscathed. . .



Our hero continued these unsightly swinging motions a few more times over the alligator infested water, and finally was able to grasp onto the only limb on the tree. Enduring
bruises, muscle fatigue, and later, a lot of muscle soreness, he
wrapped himself around the tree
and somehow flung his neanderthal feet and
tired body to the groundon the otherside of the tree. . .

And all the while, this was the expression on his face.
Sometimes it's great to feel like you're 13 again, eh?

Here's Taylor after she fell over while still in her carrying pack. We were too excited
for Erin to carry out his mission to notice that Taylor was placed on the side
of a small hill. Sorry Tay. Your face will heal.





Taylor loves to rub Erin's hair and ears while she travels on his back.
Erin doesn't seem to mind the love time.

We think a beaver got to this one.


Overall, it was an a-ok day!
