July Happenings

July was an exciting month for us Palmsters. It started with Canada Day on the 1st. We sang "Oh, Canada" and thought about our family in Erin's homeland. Then we moved right into the 4th of July. We made our first attempt at the 4th of July celebrations along the Charles River here in Boston. On the 3rd, the Boston Pops holds a concert to practice for the big show the next night. This year they performed with Rascal Flats. Some of the highlights were: our friends, The Harris Clan and Woods; the horrific storm that blew through leading the entire crowd to seek shelter under an overpass on Storrow Drive; Angi's newscast from the tunnel; the Mormon families who always seemed to sit next to us; and Landon falling asleep during the canons, confetti, and "'Life is a Highway." The next night (the 4th), we viewed the fireworks from the other side of the river in Cambridge. Again, great friends, loud fireworks, late night, and mad woman/gang vs. Ashley on the T. My niece Jessica was able to be with us. She had a memorable 1st experience riding Boston's public transportation.

After the 4th of July, my niece Jessica got to stay with us for a few days before heading back to E-Claw. We LOVED having her! Landon especially was in heaven having someone play with him all the time.

Playing dress-up was one favorite game.

We took Jess to Plum Island. Great day except for the green heads.
Those are like horse flies. They are killers. I think Landon had a dozen bites
in the short time we were there. But the boys had fun in the waves, as did Jess and
Taylor had fun trying on everyone's sandals.

Two of our favorite parks our in the ghetto town of East Boston. These
two parks, however, our beautiful and well kept and patrolled.
Piers park is directly across from the city. The other park is
huge and brand new. We tried out the fountain this particular day.

We spent time down at the pool.

Ahhhh....Thanks Jess for wearing him out!!!

Our last day with Jessica we spent down town. This is Fanieul hall. They
have street performers all day. These guys were break dancers. Landon loved
their tricks. He even tried some at home.

Jess at the airport all ready to fly home for the next adventure.

July continues with the Palmer's very first BBQ donated by some very lovely friends who will be ditching us soon to pursue some crazy career in some crazy city. Erin was giddy like a school boy using his new grill.
