Landon's newest creation

Landon uses scissors quite often. I don't supervise because he is usually cutting cardboard, tape or paper to use in his building projects. I laughed so hard when I came up and was surprised to find him cutting something other than the usual. This is what I found....

He wanted fast shorts, but was quite disappointed he cut his warm up pants so short, they turned into a skirt. He thought he looked cute in his skirt and wanted to show it off to Taylor. Sweet tan lines, eh?

I was born to dig...

We had Erin's sister and her family stay with us for a week. One day it didn't rain, so we decided to go to one of our favorite beaches on the Northshore. We spent the day in the water, climbing rocks, finding crabs, and just relaxing. As we packed up to head home, I was able to sit on the beach with just my three kids by ourselves. I was holding Audra. Talyor was wandering in circles singing to herself and Landon was digging tunnels. It was such a peaceful moment. I looked over at Landon digging his tunnels and wondered out loud where he learned to dig tunnels so well and he said in his man voice "I just do it mom....I was borrrnnn to dig tunnels." It was no wonder, then, that when we went to the zoo this week, his favorite exhibit was the prairie dogs. After ten minutes of watching the p.dogs dig tunnels and pound their noses in the dirt, Erin and Taylor took off to watch the Lemurs chase eachother. Landon wanted nothing to do with it, so he and I stayed with the p. dogs for another ten minutes. Until I told him there was a rhino. On the way home he said "Mom, I wish I was a prairie dog." Today at the beach, it looked like he was really fine tuning his tunnel digging skills, taking great care in every movement he made. His tunnel was pretty rad.

The crab

Hmmm....one of these things is not like the others.

Landon and Reuben decided to play
with the sisters instead of each other.

Deer forest--here you can be one with the wild.
I don't know how wild it is when the deer graze around
the deer food dispenser put there so visitors can hand feed
them. Still fun though.

A little rest.

Landon's imitation of a Lemur.

Taylor getting delirious at the end of the day.

Popsicles to end a great day.

Our newest team mate: A. K. Palmer

She's finally here!!! The long awaited babe has made her entrance into the world. And it certainly was an entrance. Today at church Erin told someone her birth was "un-eventful." Meaning, no complications. But every birth is "eventful" in my opinion. It's amazing, exhilarating, empowering, humbling, scary at times, and a simply a miracle. Labor and delivery for A.K. was definitely the best out of the three. It was quick and peaceful. I know I shouldn't use that word when describing labor and delivery, but that's how it was for me. I had a wonderful midwife at the Cambridge Birth Center and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks mom Palmer for being here!!

L. and T. LOVE A.K. I don't know who loves her more. They can't get enough of her. I already found her sitting in her baby chair with her head where her bum should be and her legs dangling high in the air. Appherently, T. tried pulling her out. I told her she can't do that and she said in her innocent voice "why?" Gotta keep my eye on that one.

In one week we've seen a few things out of character for Palmer kids. A.k. poops. My other children would wait weeks in-between poops. Not this one. She goes through diapers like no other. Also, she has a problem burping. I think she thinks burping is sort of sissy. She goes for the gusto and just projectile vomits instead. We've done a lot of laundry this week! She also has long toes and feet. Definitely not like Landon's, Taylor's, or Erin's. Mine aren't that long either. And her eyes are smaller and squintier than her brother and sister. But she is cute and we think we'll keep her.

At the Birth Center
There are more pictures, but I can't post nudes on here.

Beautiful Babe

Happy Birthday Landon!!!!!

Landon turned 5 on July 24th. His grandma from Ottawa was in town and his friends Toby and Ben came over to celebrate. He has been asking me "How many days is it until my birthday?" since January. We love this kid. He's funny and smart and easy going and a good brother and happy and a good friend and I could go on. We can't believe he's been ours for 5 years.

(Landon wanted more cake, so he thought "why not lick
the thing the cake came on?")
